Why We Can’t Focus Like We Used To

The world is changing rapidly and constantly growing. We are exposed to too much information, which distracts us in many ways. Constant notifications on our devices pull our attention away from study or work. Using too many apps, switching between them based on mood, and watching content mindlessly all add to the problem.
We can’t really blame anyone for this change. The world will keep changing no matter what happens to you or me. What we need to understand is how to use technology in a way that makes our lives better while avoiding unnecessary distractions.
The world has become very loud. We can get almost anything instantly, and this directly affects our attention span. We no longer feel the need to stay with one thing—if we don’t like it, we simply switch to something else. But constantly jumping from one thing to another doesn’t help us find what truly matters.
Focusing is a natural human ability. It isn’t rare, and you’re not broken. You just need direction to focus on the things you actually want to do. I can’t directly fix your focus—that depends on you—but that doesn’t mean you need to rush or force it. Focus doesn’t come from forcing yourself.
Start by avoiding unnecessary doom scrolling. Make a list of tasks before starting your day. Avoid using your phone at night. There are many small steps like these. Slowing things down for a while can help you reconnect with yourself and regain focus.
