The Difference Between Consuming and Creating

Being a consumer is not as bad as people think, and creating is not always good either. The real problem is overdoing it.

Too much consumption can turn you into a mindless consumer. Being aware of what you consume is the best way to understand why you are consuming it. Ask yourself: Is it even worth it, or am I just wasting my time?
Scrolling through reels, YouTube Shorts, or any kind of content can become addictive. The same is true for movies and games. They may entertain you, but sometimes they only fill your brain with unnecessary information that you will forget after some time. That kind of consumption usually doesn’t help you in your life.
On the other hand, creating things can make you productive. It helps you grow and understand who you really are. But that doesn’t mean creating has no flaws. Like I said before, doing things mindlessly can always harm your life. The same applies to creating. If you have a clear motive and a plan, then creating can be powerful. But first you need to decide why, what, and then how.
For example, if you start a blog but you are not truly interested in writing, it may feel boring after three or four posts. The same thing can happen with a YouTube channel or becoming an Instagram influencer. If you don’t have real interest in what you are doing, it will be hard to stay consistent.
And if you decide to create something, just start. Don’t wait for perfection. Perfection often stops people from growing. Work with what you have instead of waiting for the perfect time or perfect resources.
